Going out in Oakland is hella fun any night of the week, as you may have heard. Tonight, though you may be saying to yourself I need to go line dancing, or perhaps have a sudden urge to drink from a giant glass boot. Lucky for you Oaklands diverse bar scene doesn't disappoint.

Country Western

101 Broadway

Dust off your old cowboy boots and giddy up to Oaklands only true country western bar. Overlands drinks are strong and the food is both delicious and reasonably priced. Check their calendar for line dancing lessons and live music.

Tiki Bars

Kona Club

4401 Piedmont Ave

Aloha! When you need to feel those sweet island vibes this is where you're coming. The blowfish lights, bamboo walls, dancing hula girl and active volcano ensure any night out here is a memorable one. Sit back and have one of Oaklands most popular inventions the Mai Tai.

346 14th St

Longitudes motto: Every Good Adventure Deserves a Great Cocktail. That is something we can get on board with, especially when the tiki drinks are this great.

Gamers Bar

414 4th St

Okay, it may be a bit of a stretch to call this a video game bar but they do have an original Nintendo you can play! You'll also find some delicious sandwiches, music played on records and some other memorabilia that take you back to an earlier time.

Heinolds First & Last Chance Saloon

48 Webster St

We are calling this historical because it was built in 1880 and Jack London used to drink here! To us, that counts as history. Enjoy the slanted bar and floor that came after the great San Francisco earthquake of 1906.

Brotzeit Lokal

1000 Embarcadero

Das boot! Grab a pint or boot (you really can order a boot) of your favorite Bavarian beer and take in the beauty of the Oakland estuary. The Biergarten is inviting and a great place to chill with a few friends over a few beverages.

Irish Pub

McNallys Irish Pub

5352 College Ave

You'll find traditional Irish music and dancing at this popular College Ave watering hole. When you aren't doing an Irish jig grab a pint and play some bumper pool!

White Horse

6551 Telegraph Ave

We could probably file the White Horse under historic too as it is the oldest continuously operating gay and lesbian bar in the United States. The bar opened in 1933 and the sense of community has been strong ever since.

If you're looking for even more bars or simply where to get a beer, we've got you covered.
